"Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)

Baptism

clipart136240Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and the word.”‘ (Catechism of the Catholic Church – CCC 1213)

At Ave Maria Parish, Baptism Is usually celebrated during or after the weekend Mass, or as requested by the family.

At least one parent of an infant to be baptized must be a registered parishioner and practicing Catholic who attends weekend Mass regularly.  At least one godparent must be a practicing Catholic who has received the Initiation sacraments.

Please contact Sister Maria Inviolata for our Pre-baptism request form, required class information and any questions you may have.
